SPORT UTILIY VEHICLE or an SUV for short, is an automobile defined by its capabilities. It is a combination or cargo-hauling capability with an enclosed passenger compartment. Thus suited for both paved roads and rough terrain. Below are the 3 costly SUV in the world.

SUVs decent from heavy load vehicles like World War II jeeps and Land Rover. They were popular among rural buyers because of their off-road capabilities.

The earliest SUVs were Chevrolet Carryall Suburban. Pobeda M-72 is considered to be first modern SUV with a unitary body rather than body-on-frame. Land Rover Series II 109(around 1958 A.D) was followed by more modern “jeeps” like Jeep Wagoneer. The actual term “sport utility vehicle” or “SUV” was not in use until the late 1980s. Till then they were marketed as station wagons. They did not come into wide popular usage until the late 1980s; many of these vehicles were marketed during their era as station wagons.

SUVs are broadly classified into three categories:

1.  Compact SUVs

It is a class of SUVs which are small in size built with less cargo and passenger space. They are fuel efficient as compared to midsized and full-sized counterparts. Their Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price i.e. MSRP is also low. These SUVs are also smaller and more maneuverable than their counterparts.

2. Midsized SUVs

They do have more space than compact SUVs but achieve lower mileage and have higher production cost but they provide more power and durability than their smaller counterparts. They are considered as compromise between Compact sized SUVs and full-sized SUVs.

3. Full Sized SUV

These SUVs feature expanded cargo and passenger space but they have lower mileage and are costly to production point of view. They have high safety ratings then compact or midsized SUVs. Not only this they are more power full than their counterparts.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo S comes 3rd on the list of 3 Most Costly Cars in the World. When Porsche 1st released its Cayenne  a midsized SUV ,it became German automaker’s bestselling and most profitable models. Now the 2nd generation of Cayenne comes loaded with high comfort, family friendly size. This SUV is also available as V6-powered base Cayenne, the eight-cylinder Cayenne S and the gas-electric Cayenne S Hybrid. The exterior of the latest Cayenne features a sleeker appearance. Wtin interior redesigned it sports a long, sloping center console and a surplus of buttons and switches not like iDrive style control system. In addition to 1.6 inches increment in the wheel base there is also an extra 6.3 inches of fore-and-aft sliding in the rare seat as well as an adjustable backrest.

One of the interior feature include Bluetooth, Bose surround sound and a Burmester high-end surround sound system.

Cayenne awaits you with 500 horsepower,516 lb-ft of torque twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engine thus sprinting from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds!!!!!

This time Porsche has vastly improved fuel economy. The Cayenne Turbo is 23% more fuel efficient and now it achieves 15 mpg city,22 highway.

It was unveiled by Conquest Vehicles in 2008 at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The XV stands for “Extreme Vehicles”.

This model offers built-in oxygen survival kit, under-vehicle magnetic attachment detection system, multiple armor levels and a black box system. the SUV is armored using ballistic steel, with ballistic fiberglass fenders and bumper.

It has four ballistic run flat tyres. The vehicle’s 20-inch rims are custom designed and engineered using a solid piece of forged 6061 aluminum. Performance packages are available are available for enhanced performance.

It is a luxurious 4-door high performance crossover SUV from the Dutch car manufacturing unit Spyker Cars a subsidiary of Swedish Automobile. It was designed by Michiel van den Brink and was introduced at Geneva Motor Show in 2006. After its introduction in Geneva it received over 100 orders. The name Perking-to-Paris refers to Perking to Paris endurance rally held in 1907 from Perking (now Beijing) in China to Paris in France, in which it participated and stood second in the rally.

It weighs almost 4,079 lb  and an acceleration form 0-100 km/h in 5.0 second. The car will be fitted with a V8 from Cadillac and produce around 500 bhp.

Though this SUV has a lot of design features form Spyker’s sports car, the C8, like “aeroblade” wheels, smooth rear view mirrors also the back seat doors are hinged at the rear, creating so-called suicide doors. On march 2,  2010 Spyker’s CEO Victor Muller hinted that the development of the SUV would now be associated by Saab.
